Capsule Preview: Garbstore SS16 Lookbook and interview with Ian Paley

Garbstore gives us a brief preview of what to expect this season at Capsule, with their new lookbook ‘Sometimes Walking.’ The lookbook features strong imagery, alluding to the aesthetic that we will see integrated throughout Garbstore’s next Spring Summer collection.

On the eve of Capsule Paris, we caught up with creative director Ian Paley to get his take on next season's collection.

Tell us about the concept behind Sometimes Walking

IP: The idea for Sometimes Walking comes from the idea that all the time in menswear we are bombarded by brands, by people, by bloggers, by factories all trying be definitive, an army of experts. The reality we have learned is that we are all 'sometime experts¹ we like to do allot of things, a little. As a team here we are very much about taking our time, “Sometimes Walking “explains us and what we do well, happy to walk while others think they can run.

The look book is great. Tell us about the concept for the images

IP: This series portrays the subject in a sometimes awkward and irreverent location. We don¹t know why he¹s there, and by hiding his face with London¹s street furniture we¹re unable to gauge his expression.

What are some key items or trends for the season?

IP: I think the longer jacket will finally come back, something more than just a work coat but a nicer softer feeling. We have developed quite a few new soft shoulder patterns for our outerwear, I think this will be important for all jacket categories. Also very simple but high quality indigo will be strong for us.
