BARQUE's classic twist on the baseball jacket.
Finally, we can all relive those nights spent starring in varsity sports back in the day. Or, if physical contact makes you anxious and you therefore never had the chance to roam the halls in a varsity sports jacket, now's your time to fake it.
The baseball jacket made a definitive appearance at Capsule Paris last weekend, taking notes from the overarching season trends of lightweight fabrics, bright and pastel colors, and patterns born to be sewn together in the clashiest way possible. Brands including BARQUE, Hentsch Man, and Soulland added a touch of modern class to the iconic jacket with seersucker fabric and a mixing of muted grey, navy, and dark maroon color palettes, while Mark McNairy, Lavenham, and Lightning Bolt reinvented the whole idea with unexpected textures, prints, and bright colors that demand a double take.
Not to be outdone, Monsieur Lacenaire and Shades of Grey by Micah Cohen offered up lightweight knit alternatives that remain wearable on warm summer nights, while Shipley & Halmos produced a version in the satin fabric for those days where you just can't contain your shine.
