The Burkman boys are back at it for SS 2010. The theme this season? Nomadic beach dwellers. But of course their wanders are super cute, have a quick wit and can be found on the beaches of Phuket, Goa or Samoa reading Steinbeck and building bon fires.
No doubt the brothers have had a booming success with their well priced, uber comfy and well fitted line. I went to Barneys and Bergdorf to buy up some more shorts and both were sold out!
For this season the boys step it up a notch with more detailing and a broader range of categories.
Their madras shirts are the real deal- made in Chennai (originally called Madras) they come in an array of washes and popping colors. And don't forget, the brothers create all their own textiles so no other company will be featuring the same patterns!
The shirts come with a chambray or bandana paisley lining and there are some stellar chambray shirts with military detailing. The printed shirts show the boys saucy side with a tiger, ethnic geode and lotos flower prints that look more like 50's dad tops (which is a good thing).
To dress up a bit Doug and Ben launched two shirts with satin beams woven like selvedge into the shirts resulting into a shirt that could easily be worn out for a swank dinner. The Ikat and plaid ties and madras sports coat round out the dressier side of the collection.
FAVORITE ITEMS: The shorts lined with jersey. The inspiration was from dudes who wear swimsuits all day whether at the beach or in the city. The results are the most comfortable bottoms out there in a great color story.
Well done boys! Now where is the beach blanket bingo party? Or maybe bongo's and bong hits?
Take a look at some more pics after the jump!
