London really knows how to nurture young design talent. With many support opportunities for emerging brands, London has made its mark on the fashion map for showcasing some of the most innovative and directional designer collections in the world. The British Fashion Council (BFC) has been supporting young designers for several seasons in conjunction with TOPMAN, and today the organization announced this season’s ten emerging menswear talents who will receive NEWGEN MEN support, sponsored by TOPMAN, and will showcase their SS17 collections at London Collections Men in June.
The selected designers are given support to stage a catwalk, salon show, presentation or an installation. Three designers will be receiving NEWGEN MEN support for the first time: recent Central Saint Martins graduate Kiko Kostadinov, Phoebe English, and MAN alumni Wales Bonner in addition to seven returning designers: Alex Mullins, Bobby Abley, Cottweiler, Craig Green, Diego Vanassibara, Liam Hodges, and PIETER.
In addition to receiving showcasing opportunities, the recipients are given financial support and business mentoring. Designers may make use of the financial support to grow or strengthen any aspect of their business, or towards the implementation of their shows, presentations and installations.
