When I think of Brazil, I rarely think of fashion; unless I'm speaking of Giselle, Havianas, or thongs, there really isn't much for me to think of. What I do usually think of is music. Being a fan of Samba, Batucada and Baile Funk, I tend to think of warm, sunny days on Impanema Beach-- and the mellow tunes of Astrud Gilberto and Sergio Mendes. Perhaps that's the reason I took notice of Brazilian-influenced label Nossa, whose designers are also well-known Baile Funk DJs; both their line and music are about as cool as a Caipirinha on a hot day.

Having been profiled in magazines like Trace, BPM and Beautiful Decay, duo Nossa (or Sujinho and Cassiano) have made waves on the music scene for being major proponents of the Baile Funk scene, along with DJs like Diplo. Now, with their streetwear label, they intend to prove that they're no "One Trick Ponies." Drawing inspiration from Brazil and the rest of the Third World, each shirt is not only visually intriguing, but has a message as well.
