For anyone in the Greater Boston Area, today is a highlight of the spring calendar: Patriots' Day, or as it's more colloquially known, Marathon Monday.
Today's cold wind and rain didn't stop the masses from descending upon Bolyston Street in downtown Boston to cheer runners on as they cross the finish line over the course of the day. This year's winners - Lelisa Desisa and Caroline Rotich - hail from Ethiopia and Kenya, respectively, and crossed the finish line just past noon today.
For those who are inspired by Desisa and Rotich's success, or by any finishers who've trained for months just for today, let Tracksmith co-founder Matt Taylor give you a little more motivation.
For the occasion of the Marathon, Taylor created a running playlist just for us at We Are the Market. You can trust in Taylor's expertise; in addition to founding the premium performance apparel label, Taylor himself ran track at Yale.
If you're in Boston, you can also check out Tracksmith's pop-up shop at 285 Newbury Street. Along with the full Tracksmith collection on hand for purchase - and the debut of the brand's women's collection - the shop will host parties, morning runs, and a daily radio show, now until April 22.
So now you've got the inspiration and the tunes, you can get the gear and you have a place to unwind post-run. Seems like it's a good time to get out there.
