A Dose of (capsule) NY - Eastland Shoes

At times, keeping up with fashion trends may be more exhausting than life itself. Eastland remedies this by making stylish, classic, well made shoes that transition seamlessly through the seasons. Eastland Shoes has been owned and operated by the Klein family since 1955 and is based in Freeport, Maine. This year marks their 55th anniversary and to celebrate, the family looked back into the archive and pulled a few styles to be introduced in a (capsule) collection of all-American goodness for the SS11 season. All the shoes are handmade in Maine with the finest workmanship using high quality leather tanned in the USA. These future classics not only last long but they also get better with wear. We caught up with the Klein brothers, whose grandfather started the company, to check out their collection and we've got some photos after the jump. (Santho Goonewardene)
